An Adrenalist Story & Cinematic Short

Truman Mylin is a photo and visual content creator based out of Los Angeles, California. He is one of my go-to visual artists for all things photo and video related. Truman studied Business at Millersville University, Pennsylvania and was then hired by Gerard Adams to help produce photo and video for the New Jersey-based, startup accelerator called Fownders, which has ended up reaching millions of people worldwide. Below are highlights from my interview with Truman, and there's a lot of great tips and tools for any aspiring content creators out there.

"I️ recently moved to Los Angeles, CA where I’m building up all of my connections. I’m working with celebrities whenever I️ can, whether it’s taking photos or creating videos. I’m also building a new content platform with some other great people. Essentially it will be a platform for exclusive, high quality content. No clickbait, No gimmicks. Just great videos. In addition, it will be a great way for creators to make money through their videos. We've been working on it for awhile now so we're excited to share more soon."

"Society will always influence us in some fashion. However, one of my favorite quotes is by Mark Twain. He said, “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect.” Basically, it means to stop following the crowd all the time and think for yourself. Back in college, I️ realized that I was following the crowd. I was doing what everyone else was doing and it was getting me nowhere. I️ stopped going out on the weekends, started reading books more and really dove into my videography craft. That’s when things started to change."

"Take a risk and bet on yourself. You can fail at almost anything so it’s better to fail doing what you love. All my professors suggested that I stay in school but if I would’ve listened I wouldn’t have met any of the amazing people I'm connected with now. Sometimes the only advice you should take is from yourself. So if you have a Dream, I urge you to chase it while you still can."

Here's a Cinematic Short called Explore Utah that Truman, Mike Richy, and I collaborated on below..Check it out!
